There s something so effortlessly beautiful about a simple vase filled with fresh blooms~and that was exactly the inspiration behind today’s project. For today’s challenge, I wanted to capture that clean, modern feel while bringing in warmth, texture and little bit of charm.
This card is one of those pieces that feels like a little slice of spring~fresh cheerful and full of life. It’s a reminder that inspiration can can from the simplest things…even a vase sitting quietly on a table!
Please share with us on this modern elegance inspires you!
Hey everyone, happy Friday. I love this week’s inspiration. That dark blue background really catches my eye and makes those vases pop! So I was inspired by the colors, flowers and sketch this week
I knew which papers I wanted to use and dug into some Stampin Up. I purchased this paper pack just for these beautiful flowers and this card made my fussy cutting heart happy LOL I do really like to fussy cut images from pattern paper. The sentiment is also from Stampin Up. As always, I added some stitching and this time I just adhered the images to the card rather than mounting on foam squares.
This week’s Inspired By Challenge is all about modern simplicity with a soft, elegant twist! These beautiful vases combine clean lines , set against a bold navy backdrop that makes the soft blush tones truly stand out. The subtle florals, structured shapes, and contrast of colors create a look that feels both fresh and refined.
Will you be inspired by the soft pink palette, the deep navy contrast, or the sleek, minimal shapes? Maybe it’s the striped detailing, the balance of bold and delicate, or the simple floral accents that spark your creativity. However you interpret it, let this stylish scene guide your next design.

Hello everyone. Von Marie here and I’m so excited to be on the blog this Tuesday! This week we have Clothes Pins #IB386 as our theme so much fun and a New Card Sketch.
Let’s get Started:
I do own some clothes pins but where are they? I can’t remember. LOL The show must go on! So, I was inspired by the blue, pink, greens, and reds in the inspiration photo as well as the roses.
I couldn’t think of a small roses stencil in my stash but I did have this MFT Stencil Spring Flowers. You know I love to stencil. On blue cardstock 85 lbs. I used Catherine Poolers Minis in Rose Petals, Seafoam, and Stone blue. My rose petals ink looks purple but my intentions were pink LOL. Next, I cut my stenciled background to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.
I used some ephemera from an Tim Holtz Idea-logy Pack called Palette. Lots of pretties in this Memorabilia pack. I grabbed these roses, and a lacy ephemera strip to use for this card. I love ephemera. The sentiment is from a digital EZ Cardmaking kit by LV Handcrafted called Smiling Florals. You can Use VONMARIEDESIGN to save. I also cut my sentiment strip with a Universal sentiments die available at Not 2 Shabby Shop. Everything was glued to a A2 top folding card base 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. That finishes my card I had so much fun making it. I bet I’ll find the clothes pins I was looking for after this challenge LOL.

This week’s INSPIRED BY challenge has a wonderful shabby chic vibe. The beautifully painted clothespins in the inspiration photo are really lovely and have the most charming florals, which is the inspiration for my card.
I stamped this floral image from Altenew called Handpicked Bouquet using a warm gray hybrid ink to avoid harsh lines, and then used the layering stamps in this set to apply color to the florals and leaves. I used colored pencils to outline everything and apply some additional shading.
For the background, I used stamps from Close To My Heart called Brushstrokes Flair to create the repeating lines in the sketch. I embossed the panel with a Penny Black embossing folder called Noted, and then cut the oval frame from a Waffle Flower die set called Lacy Ovals.
The frame and bouquet were popped up with foam tape. I added vellum leaves cut from an Altenew die called Polka Dot Leaves, foiled sentiment from Spellbinders, and a few clear sequins to finish my shabby chic birthday card.
I initially thought I would create a scene with a clothesline and laundry but I was too smitten with the beautiful colors and florals to go in that direction. I also didn’t think a laundry card would be very practical, since I’m always in need of birthday cards. How about you? What inspires you about this week’s challenge? We can’t wait to see. ~MarDi
Sometimes inspiration comes from the simplest, most everyday things and for this designed, it all started with clothespins.
Something so nostalgic and cozy about clothes hanging out to dry and swaying in the breeze. Tiny clothespins at the top of the card are the heart of the design…just a sweet little dress freshly hung and catching the warm spring breeze.
Details really make this piece come together. The scalloped collar, tiny floral accents, the little butterfly just add softness. Created for a sweet baby girl because sometimes, the most beautiful inspiration come the little things that we see everyday.

Happy Friday. Happy May!I love this week’s inspiration. I love this time of year when I can start hanging my clothes out to dry. I don’t have a clothesline but I have clothes racks and I make good use of them from now until the fall! Do you have a clothes line?
I was inspired by the colors, the roses and the sketch for my card. I used a Stampin Up stencil so this went together very quickly. The background die is from MFT I believe. I thought it was perfect considering the sketch.
This week’s Inspired By Challenge is all about sweet florals and charming everyday details! These delicate clothes pins, painted in soft pastel tones and adorned with tiny blossoms, bring a fresh, cottage-inspired feel that’s perfect for spring crafting.
Will you be inspired by the soft mint background, the pretty pink flowers, or the repeating patterns? Maybe it’s the mix of simple shapes and delicate details, or the gentle color palette that sparks your creativity. Whether you lean toward shabby chic, clean and modern, or something entirely your own, let this lovely inspiration guide your design.
