  • So many different takes on the inspiration last week. It is always fun to see how people are inspired.

    Teresa S

Such a gorgeous, vibrant card! I love all of the colors and texture as well as the fun glitter centres on some of the flowers. Congratulations Teresa!

Don’t forget to play along this week:

  • Sometimes you begin a card with one idea, and end up making something you never eggs-pected, haha! That’s what happened this week after I saw the delightful floral eggs in the inspiration photo.

I knew I wanted to use Carta Bella’s “Home Again” patterned paper collection for the eggs. I die cut them using Honey Bee Stamps’ adorable “Egg Crate,” then noticed the fun letter board paper in the collection. I thought it would be fun to make a farm stand sign using The Greetery’s “Slim Alphabet” dies.

I colored some of the eggs with a sponge dauber and ink, then shaded the egg crate with Copic markers. So much fun! Now I can use this card for Easter, or as a fun note for a friend any time of the year!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

  • There is something about stacked elements on a card that instantly makes it eye-catching. I had so much fun creating this tall, cheerful card with eggs all stacked up, the cutest little chick on top. The colors and patterns bring out the spring times element. I used Lori Whitlock’s Echo Park Easter Basket collection and an Doodlebug SVG file.

  • Hey everyone, Laurel here. I absolutely love this week’s inspiration. I love the colors so I am sure I will be creating another card because today, I was inspired by the theme and the eggs.

I have used the Easter Basket collection from @Echoparkpaper. For the main image I fussy cut it from one of the pattern papers and mounted it on foam squares. The Happy die is from The Stamps of Life. This card is pretty simple, as I am battling the flu and it took all the brain cells I had available LOL

Now we can’t wait to see how you are inspired! Be sure to share your creation in our Facebook Group too!

  • Hello everyone.  Happy Tuesday and Happy St. Patrick’s Day. Von Marie here and I’m so excited to be on the blog today.  Isn’t our challenge this week so fun? Spring Brights #IB379 and a New Card Sketch.

    Let’s Get started:

I was inspired by the colors, tulips, and bowl.

I used a Layering Spring stencil from pretty Pink Posh that has 2 stencils one for the flowers and one for the greenery.  I used Concord & 9th ink cubes in Ballet Slippers, Buttercup, Parsley, and Aqua Sky on white cardstock.  I thought these colors of inks looked like the
inspiration photo. I then cut my stenciled background to be 4 x 5 1/4.

Next, I stamped a set of bowls image from Unity Stamp Co. called Bowl Full Of Comfort with Memento Tuxedo Dew Drop ink.  I colored the bowls with my Copic Markers to match the inspiration photo and my stenciled background.  I also stamped a sentiment and cut it with my paper trimmer.  Everything was then glued with liquid glue to a A2 side folding card base 4 1/4 x 5 1/2.  Lastly, I added some pink gems from Pinkfresh Studio.  I think this card came out, so cute.  I hope you join us!

How to join this challenge? Create a card inspired by the photo or Card Sketch or both.  Link your card to the Inspired By..Blog. Every Thursday starts a New challenge so you have less than a week to link up your card.  Show us your card in our FB group.  We would love to see.

  • Sometimes it’s easy to know what direction to take when I see the Inspiration prompts for the Inspired By challenge but this one really challenged me.

I love the pretty colors and clean stripy lines in the photo but I was initially too focused on the tulips and started in a direction I didn’t like, so I scrapped that project and started combing through my stash for inspiration. As soon as I saw the MFT Stamps Kitschy Kitchen set, I had my direction. I was even able to work in the sketch, which always feels like a bonus to me.

The cute sentiment is from a Mama Elephant set called Birthday Messages. I really like this sentiment set because the print is really small and works nicely when you don’t want the sentiment to detract from the design.

How would you approach the inspiration prompts for this week’s challenge? I’m excited to see what you create. ~MarDi

  • Wow spring is definitely in the air with so many gorgeous creations in the gallery last week! (Though right now, where I am it is VERY cold and I am looking forward to getting back home to the West Coast tomorrow). It was difficult choosing a winner!

    Chris Lawlor

This is just so bright and cheery! Love the flowers, especially the polka dot centre and that it is a shaped card. Congratulations Chris!

Now don’t forget to play along this week

  • As soon as I saw this week’s lovely “Spring Brights” dishes, I thought of my family’s CorningWare set used at all of the potlucks and events of my youth in the 70’s and 80’s! I currently live about 90 minutes north of Corning, New York. So these “Classic Casserole” dies from Hero Arts hold a special place in my heart.

To feature my collection of casserole dishes, I made a fun fold card called a “Surprise Pop Up “ after watching a tutorial on YouTube from Creative Moments by G (Georgia Lane).

I made little shelves out of woodgrain cardstock and The Greetery’s “Curio: Cover” dies. I added a sentiment from “Bake Someone Happy” on a “Crimped Circle” die cut.

My dishes were made from colorful paper in the Carta Bella “Farm to Table” collection. Our classic CorningWare was the white set with the blue flowers! But I think these colors would make a pretty awesome set, too.

Join us for this week’s challenge…and you don’t even have to bring a dish to pass (unless that’s where inspiration takes you)!
