I love an opportunity to add sparkle and bling whenever possible, and this week’s photo of beautiful donuts decorated with flowers and candy sparkles definitely sent me in that direction with my card design.

I used Pink and Main Box of Donuts dies for the donuts and cut the frosting out of watercolored cardstock pieces I always keep handy. Then, I applied a heavy layer of Nuvo Crystal Glaze, to which I added glitter. The flowers are various dies from Spellbinders and Papertrey Ink, also cut out of previously watercolored cardstock. I added stickles glitter gel to the flowers, and then applied pearls to the centers.
The “Sparkle” die is from Papertrey Ink and was cut out of both glitter and gold foil cardstock and layered together. The scalloped panel is from Whimsy Stamps called Sprinkles Scalloped Rectangle dies.
A few goldish colored gems added to the donuts finished this sparkly card off nicely. I think this is the perfect card to send to my sweet niece who deserves a bright, sparkling year after experiencing so much heartache last year.
