Current Challenge

  • Hello everyone! My name is Kelly Schirmer, and I am the newest member of the Inspired By Team! I am so excited to be joining this group of talented ladies! I have played along with many Inspired By Challenges, as I have always found card challenges to be the creative spark that gets my ideas flowing. I was so excited to see the gorgeous hot chocolate photo for my first post here. I had just the supplies in mind from The Greetery, and decided to get “matchy matchy”…I couldn’t resist!

I used several products from The Greetery including “Cocoa Cozy.” I masked off the top of the mug die cut with a post-it note so I could ink the bottom pink, then stamped the rim in brown, and splattered with brown acrylic paint. I love how it turned out so much like the inspiration photo! Added treats from “Sweet Tooth” and “Hug in a Mug: Sweet Treats,” then placed all of my goodies on a “Shortbread Shapes: Rectangle” die cut.

We would love for you to play along this week! Thanks so much for the warm (and cozy 😉) welcome!

  • My turn to share my take on this weeks inspiration. This weeks theme was inspired by Hot Chocolate. Yum and what a cold week it has been for most of us. I decided to create a cute little gift card holder with a Starbucks card inside to surprise someone this week. Just to make their week a bit brighter.

You can find the link to the gift car holder here and I used Lori Whitlock’s Echo Park Winter Fun Collection to create it with. That little snowman soaking in the hot chocolate is just too cute.

    Thanks for stopping by~ Cathy

  • Hey everyone, I wanted to share my card for this week’s challenge (though I am sure I will be doing at least one more – such a sweet inspiration photo). I was inspired by the theme and came up with this card. Funny thing is I had the heart background and the just sayin’ already done as I didn’t use them on a previous project so this went together quickly. Both the pattern paper and the cute stamp is from Unity. The other sentiment, I printed out on my computer. The little cup die I have had for many years, I think was originally from PTI. I added a heart confetti to the mug.

The image and sentiment is mounted on foam squares for some dimension.

  • This week’s Inspired By Challenge is a sweet sip of indulgence and creativity! 🍫☕ With a swirl of whipped cream, rich chocolate drizzle, and a dreamy palette of blush pink and cocoa brown, this image brings all the cozy vibes of winter comfort and Valentine sweetness. Whether you lean into the decadence or the delicate details, we can’t wait to see what you make. Be sure to tag us and use #IB373!

  • My project was inspired by the newest Inspired by Challenge: Mittens

I was inspired by both the photo an the sketch. I went pretty literal with this one.

My card features the following products:

❤️ Pretty Pink Posh – Valentine Banner Greetings | stamp
❤️ Pretty Pink Posh – Mitten Shaker | dies
❤️ Pretty Pink Posh – Box of Chocolates | dies
❤️ Pretty Pink Posh – Banner Greetings 2 | dies
    ❤️ Spellbinders – Fountain Wishes | die
❤️ Spellbinders – Nordic Noel | embossing folder
❤️ Mama Elephant – Placemat Set | creative cuts
❤️ Waffle Flower – Gingham – Berry Sweet | paper*

Do you see what I did with the Box of Chocolates dies? The white ‘tag’ on the cuff with the heart, that’s from that set. The interior of that red heart is on the bird. I stacked the ricrac circle and the coordinating circle and punched 2 holes to make it a button.

  • Hello everyone Happy Tuesday! Von Marie here and I’m happy to be on the Inspired by…Blog today.  This week our theme is Mittens #IB372 and I love the fun photo.  We also have a great card sketch.

So I was inspired by the colors in the photo.  I love the sketch too but honestly I just started ink blending on white cardstock using this great stencil set from Pretty Pink Posh that’s a Layered Mittens set that I forgot the sketch..oops but that is okay because either photo or theme or both is perfectly fine.  I used inks like Catherine Pooler Stone Blue, Polished, and Pinkfresh Studio Warm Buff to give me those blues, reds, and beige colors on my 3 piece stencil set.

I also used a Mittens Banner die from jaded Blossom Winter Banner Dies that I cut out with white cardstock.  I ink blended it with the same inks.  It comes with a separate mitten die with stitching so that is what I ink blended.  I stamped a cute sentiment on white cardstock with black ink also using Jaded Blossom called Fuzzy Mittens.  My sentiment was cut and my background was cut to A2 size 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 using my paper trimmer. I cut some gingham ribbon from my stash and grabbed a heart button like the image and some red embroidery thread and hot glued them to my card panel.  I had to dust my hot glue gun as it had been a while since it has been used.  All were glued to a gray A2 card base.

You still have time to join us!  Just link your card to the Challenge post there is a linky there and if you win your photo will be shared and you can get a badge for your blog.  Every week we have a New challenge and they are so fun!! I can’t wait to see how you are inspired?

  • This week’s Inspired By challenge had me scrounging through my stamp and die sets to find a bird I wanted to use. It’s always fun to rediscover an item from from my stash that hasn’t been used in a very long time. This set from Paper Smooches called Natural Beauties was not exactly what I had in mind when I started my search but, when I discovered it, I knew I wanted to use it.

Inspiration for this card first came from the little birds on the mittens, then the colors and sketch.

What is it about this week’s challenge that inspires you? Is it the mittens, birds, colors, textures, sketch? We hope you’re inspired to play along. ~MarDi

  • Oh my so many wonderful cards in the gallery last week it was hard to choose a winner!

    Renate

These cookies just kept calling my name! Love how she used the sketch, all of the details and the texture! Congratulations Renate!

Don’t forget to play along this week!

  • Sharing my take on this week’s inspiration with a mitten shaped card. I was inspired by the colors and the theme. I love to create shaped cards, always been a favorite of mine. This card was created with https://www.silhouettedesignstore.com/mitten-gingerbread-cookies.html. I only used one, and did an outline shape, duplicated it and then welded it to make the card. I used the remaining pieces for the front. Lori Whitlock’s Echo Park Winter Fun collection was used to complete it.

  • Happy Friday, today I am sharing my card for the Inspired By Challenge and I am combining it with my guest designing card for JUGS as this week is stencil week. I have used the Simon Says Stencils and Die Warm Mug and Everything Nice set. I was inspired by the mittens, colors and loosely the sketch in the Inspired By challenge. Once again too, I embossed the background with a snowflake embossing folder so I am playing along with the SSSIG challenge – Use an Embossing Folder.

I am pretty new to stencilling and it is kind of fun! Do you use stencils a lot?

Did you know that to play along with our challenge here at Inspired By it doesn’t have to be a card? It can be anything, as long as we can see what inspired you and it is a handmade project!

Now we can’t wait to see how you were inspired.
